West Indies Test Cricket Captain Jason Holder is one of the nicest, most focused and passionate athletes that it has been my pleasure to work with. His commitment to Test Cricket and his desire to take West Indies back into the top echelons of the sport, do him credit.
In 2015 he became the 2nd youngest ever West Indies Test captain.
His performance over the last year has been extraordinary to say the least.
In test matches, he heads the all time best bowling average in a calendar year, with 33 wickets at an average of 11.87, surpassing the likes of Shoaib Akhtar, Imran Khan, Waqar Younis and Curtly Ambrose. This is, in fact, the best fast bowling performance with a minimum of 30 wickets for over 100 years and the best by any bowler in the last 50 years.
In ODI’s last year, he became the fastest West Indies player to 100 wickets and 1000 runs.
I believe that the future of West Indies Cricket looks bright under his leadership and I wish him and the West Indies team, all the best in the upcoming series against England, starting in January 2019
